About The Role

The Borgen Project is seeking a passionate and dedicated Advocacy Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing and implementing strategic advocacy campaigns aimed at influencing policy decisions related to global poverty alleviation. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating outreach efforts, engaging with policymakers, and mobilizing community supporters to advance the organization’s mission. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful change on a global scale while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit advocacy, public relations, and policy analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in advocacy, nonprofit work, or grassroots organizing is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with legislative processes, policy research, and digital advocacy tools will be considered advantageous.
  • A passion for social justice and global development is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute advocacy strategies to promote policies that address global poverty and inequality.
  • Engage with policymakers, government officials, and legislative bodies to advocate for impactful change.
  • Coordinate outreach campaigns across various platforms, including social media, email, and community events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with supporters, partners, and stakeholders to foster collaborative efforts.
  • Conduct research on relevant policy issues and prepare briefing materials, reports, and advocacy tools.
  • Organize and participate in lobbying efforts, meetings, and public awareness events.
  • Monitor policy developments and provide strategic recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Assist in training and mobilizing volunteers and supporters to amplify advocacy initiatives.
  • Track and evaluate campaign effectiveness, preparing reports to measure impact and inform future strategies.
