About The Role
The Borgen Project is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various outreach and advocacy programs aimed at raising awareness about global poverty issues. Your primary focus will be to develop strategic campaigns, engage with stakeholders, and support grassroots advocacy efforts. The Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects, fostering relationships with partners and volunteers, and contributing to the organization’s overall mission of influencing policy change and driving sustainable development initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Non-Profit Management, or a related field. Prior experience in advocacy, program management, or non-profit organizations is highly preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, community groups, and volunteers. The candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and advocacy tools is also required. A passion for global development, social justice, and the mission of The Borgen Project is fundamental to success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic advocacy campaigns aimed at influencing U.S. foreign policy and promoting global poverty reduction initiatives.
- Coordinate outreach efforts, including organizing events, webinars, and community engagement activities to raise awareness about global development issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, NGOs, and community organizations to support advocacy goals.
- Manage volunteer programs, including recruitment, training, and ongoing support to ensure active participation and effective advocacy efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate program activities, preparing reports and presentations to communicate progress and impact to stakeholders.
- Stay informed on current global development issues, policy changes, and funding opportunities to align organizational strategies accordingly.
- Assist in grant writing and fundraising initiatives to support program expansion and organizational sustainability.
- Collaborate with team members to develop content for advocacy materials, social media, and organizational communications.
