Volunteer for a Startup Restoring Independence to Stroke and Injury Survivors! 🦾❤️
Powered Orthotics restores hand function to stroke and injury survivors through soft orthosis technology, breaking the cycle of isolation and rebuilding lives.
Millions of stroke, spinal cord injury, and trauma survivors worldwide live with severe upper-limb paralysis, stripping them of the ability to perform basic daily tasks like gripping a glass, cooking, or shaking a hand. Beyond the physical limitation, losing hand function triggers a devastating psychological cycle: the loss of independence breeds deep frustration and social isolation, which directly fuels depression and leaves survivors entirely dependent on caregivers. Without accessible, functional tools to regain physical autonomy, survivors often withdraw from society, trapping them in prolonged mental distress and social disconnection.
Powered Orthotics interrupts this isolation-depression cycle through MotionMate, a lightweight, soft hand orthosis designed to restore essential hand function and grip strength. By blending advanced soft robotics with human-centered design, MotionMate enables users to independently navigate daily activities, care for themselves, and re-engage with their communities. Restoring physical autonomy serves as a direct lever for improving mental health outcomes, empowering survivors to reclaim their dignity, self-reliance, and active involvement in the world around them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
