About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator to join The Borgen Project’s dynamic team. This role is pivotal in advancing the organization’s mission by developing and executing advocacy strategies, engaging with policymakers, and expanding outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for social justice, and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams. As a key representative of the organization, you will be responsible for building relationships with stakeholders, organizing campaigns, and ensuring the effective dissemination of our message to influence policy change. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to global efforts aimed at reducing poverty and improving lives worldwide.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, International Development, or a related field. Prior experience in advocacy, nonprofit work, or community outreach is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to develop compelling advocacy materials and engage diverse audiences. Experience with social media platforms, digital marketing, and grassroots organizing will be advantageous. A demonstrated commitment to social justice issues, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are also important. Candidates should be adaptable, proactive, and motivated to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence policy decisions related to global poverty alleviation.
  • Engage with policymakers, government officials, and community leaders to promote the organization’s initiatives.
  • Coordinate and execute outreach campaigns across various platforms to raise awareness and mobilize support.
  • Create compelling advocacy and educational materials, including reports, presentations, and social media content.
  • Organize events, webinars, and meetings to foster dialogue and promote policy change.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze policy developments and provide strategic recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Track and report on campaign progress, ensuring objectives are met and goals are aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Represent The Borgen Project at conferences, community events, and public forums to enhance visibility and advocacy efforts.
