Role: Digital Media Executive

Reports to: Chief Executive

Functional accountability to: Strategic lead for Marketing and Communications

Contract type: Full time, permanent (37.5 hour per week)

Location: Dragonbet Stadium, Bridgend.

Work Pattern: Flexible due to weekend work and unsociable hours

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000pa DOE

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Digital Media Executive will lead Penybont FC's digital presence across social media, website and video content, helping to grow the Club's audience, strengthen its brand and support commercial and community objectives. The role holder will receive support from the Club’s executive and volunteer team to deliver a consistent and professional weekly digital output.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and publish engaging content across the Club's social media channels, including interviews and behind-the-scenes features.
  • Contribute as part of a team to live matchday coverage, including team news, goal updates, final scores and post-match content.
  • Produce and edit photo and video content, including highlights, interviews and behind-the-scenes features.
  • Support updating of the Club website, so that news, fixtures, results and player/squad information is accurate and current.
  • Support ticketing, membership and matchday promotion campaigns through promotion on digital channels.
  • Manage routine media enquiries, arranging interviews, and coordinating with key club staff. More sensitive or reputational matters should be escalated to the Chief Executive.
  • Ensure all content reflects the values of the Club and complies with relevant safeguarding, data protection and FAW/league media guidelines.
  • Represent the Club positively in its online communications and respond to community engagement where appropriate.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in digital communications or a related field.
  • Either a strong portfolio of past work or experience of operating in a digital communications position is desirable.

Knowledge, skills and experience (essential):

  • Confident, accurate written communication skills.
  • Experience in creating content and messaging using a variety of marketing techniques and channels to target different audiences.
  • Availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Reliable, well organised with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and understanding of the importance of reputation management and operating within brand guidelines.
  • Previous use of design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or equivalent software.
  • Experience with photo/video editing tools (e.g. CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva).
  • Basic website/CMS experience.
  • A full driving licence and access to transport for away fixtures (where required).

Knowledge, skills and experience (desirable):

  • Welsh speaking.
  • A strong interest and understanding of Welsh football.
  • Experience of working for a sports organisation in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of setting up online paid advertisements.

The successful candidate will be required to supply references to evidence suitability for the role and complete an enhanced DBS.

Following an assessment of the applications received, informal interviews will be held online w/c 23 August to form a short list for formal interviews.

Formal interviews will be held at the Club w/c 30 August, involving representatives of the Strategic Marketing and Commercial Group.
