Role purpose
You will manage the day-to-day digital merchandising of Gill apparel and accessories across our Shopify stores, helping customers find the right products and supporting ecommerce sales growth.
Working closely with Ecommerce, Merchandising, Marketing and Operations, you will use trading data and customer behaviour to improve product presentation, navigation and availability.
This is a hands-on role in a small team, requiring strong organisation and the confidence to respond quickly to trading opportunities.
Key responsibilities
Product setup and content
- Collate product information and imagery; select and prepare images, and create and maintain accurate, high quality product listings across all Shopify stores.
- Ensure products function correctly within our bespoke System Builder, create and maintain size guides, and implement product and content changes as required.

- Create and deliver a digital merchandising strategy aligned with business KPIs, improving the visibility and presentation of Gill apparel and accessories.
- Create and update navigation and collections as seasons, ranges and customer behaviour change; maintain product tags and placement within appropriate collections.
- Merchandise collections through Tagalys using manual placement and rules and use A/B testing to evaluate and refine the merchandising strategy.
- Keep the homepage and bestseller sections fresh and relevant, ensuring new product launches and promotions receive appropriate visibility.
Search and regional SEO
- Monitor onsite search queries, identify emerging trends and share findings with the wider team to inform product and merchandising decisions.
- Optimise product and collection descriptions, URLs, meta titles and meta descriptions for regional SEO across all stores.
Stock availability and operations
- Plan and prioritise inbound and outbound stock flow across ranges and categories, communicating supply risks and availability issues promptly.
- Ensure ecommerce stock reserves are in place and maintain availability wherever possible, particularly for launches and marketing activity.
- Manage range and promotional stock planning, markdowns and clearance to support sell-through of ageing ecommerce warehouse stock.
- Liaise with Operations on stock movements, requests, pricing discrepancies and stock issues; maintain stock levels and price books across stores.

Sales and promotions
- Analyse trading data and propose sale strategies, including product selection and discounts; monitor results and adjust the approach as trading changes.
- Implement price changes accurately across all stores, create and activate promotional collections.
- Create promotional cards within collections.
Performance analysis and marketing support
- Using Tagalys, report on trading performance, identify risks and opportunities, and inform decisions.
- Review performance regularly and turn findings into practical improvements to merchandising, customer journeys and future trading plans.
- Support Marketing with product recommendations and email callouts based on performance data, stock availability and product knowledge; recommend category and collection focuses as buying patterns shift.
Experience and skills
- At least three years of merchandising experience, preferably within retail ecommerce, with a proven record of increasing sales through digital merchandising.
- Ability to interpret data, identify problems and develop practical solutions that improve trading performance.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver against targets both independently and within a team.
- A hands-on approach and the ability to make sound decisions and react quickly to changing trade.
