Your future role
Join the team responsible for defining the mechanical architecture of future trains in the UK and abroad. We are looking for an experienced Digital Mock-Up Lead Engineer to ensure End-to-End consistency & fluid data-flow on Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) on product or project contract execution, actively managing data quality through guidance and training and electrical design deliveries for each baseline of the project you are contributing to.
We’ll look to you for:
- Ensuring correct maturity & status level according to product lifecycle and component status
- Ensuring correct positioning of the components in DMU
- Ensuring correct metadata attributes filling and classification
- Ensuring correct application of DMU methodologies
- Building high level product breakdown structures and performing all activities assigned to the “Architect” role in the DMU tool
- Synchronising exchanges between Internal teams, Suppliers and Subcontractors throughout project duration, in order to maintain a consistent EBOM configuration
- Extracting simplified 3D DMU engineering baselines throughout the product lifecycle in support of critical design reviews
- Preparing for, and supporting, internal and external design reviews through DMU presentation and manipulation
- Act as local Key User and provide guidance and training to ensure consistent high quality of DMU
- Manage DMU maturity status KPIs.
- Liaison with central experts and involvement with expert network to support knowledge transfer and process development

All about you

- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to visualise in space, comfortable with information systems
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management tools, knowledge of latest Dassault tools advantageous
- Experienced CATIA user in a design environment, able to train and provide expert guidance to others on solid modelling, surfacing and more advanced functions
- Structured and organised with Hands-on approach and excellent communication skills.
- Time management and reporting skill.
- Good communicator, able to co-ordinate and / or support cross functional product development activities
