About CISES
The Centre for International Security and Economic Strategy (CISES) is an independent, London-based think tank dedicated to examining the complex intersection of global security, geopolitics, and economic policy. In an era of rapid shifts in the international order, CISES delivers rigorous, evidence-based insight into global risk, regional crises, and emerging strategic challenges. By bridging the gap between rigorous academic analysis and practical policy debate, we empower policymakers, researchers, and the public with the tools needed to navigate an increasingly interconnected world. With a growing international network of over 100 analysts and contributors, CISES produces research, policy analysis, interviews, and multimedia content covering some of the most pressing challenges in international affairs.
As our digital presence continues to expand, we are seeking a team of Digital Officer (Short-Form Video) to help transform our analysts' research and recordings into engaging, accessible video content for platforms such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
About the Position
As a Digital Officer (Short-Form Video), you will be responsible for:
- Editing recordings submitted by CISES analysts into engaging, informative short-form videos, generally lasting 45–90 seconds.
- Incorporating subtitles, graphics, transitions, and relevant visual material to improve the quality and accessibility of video content.
- Maintaining consistent CISES branding and ensuring all videos meet our visual and editorial standards.
- Coordinating with analysts on scripts, recordings, and revisions to ensure content is accurate and ready for publication.
- Collaborating with the Digital Team to manage production schedules and deliver completed videos within agreed deadlines.
- Contributing ideas to improve video quality, audience engagement, and the presentation of complex geopolitical topics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
