I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You will be an experienced digital performance marketer with a strong background in an agency environment and significant hands-on Paid Media experience.
You'll have a strong understanding of SEO and digital performance alongside your Paid Media expertise, with the ability to look beyond individual channels and understand how activity contributes to wider client objectives.
You'll be confident working with data, interpreting performance and turning insight into clear recommendations. Just as importantly, you'll be comfortable presenting to clients and explaining performance in a clear and commercially relevant way.
This role would suit someone who is ready to take the next step in their career, whether that's from a Senior Paid Media, Performance Marketing or similar role. Experience mentoring or supporting other team members is important, but you don't necessarily need to have already held a formal management position.
You'll need to be confident enough to constructively challenge specialists and stakeholders, whilst maintaining a collaborative and supportive approach. The ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery will be particularly important in this role.
