Digital Performance Manager
The Opportunity
A growing marketing agency is looking to appoint a Digital Performance Manager to play an important role in shaping and developing its performance offering.
This is an exciting time to join a growing business, with a clear progression plan and the long-term opportunity to develop into a position within the Senior Leadership Team.
You’ll take ownership of the performance function, with a particular focus on team development, client strategy, performance oversight, and digital performance, while providing Paid Media support when additional resource or expertise is required.
You’ll need practical Paid Media experience and a good understanding of SEO and the wider digital landscape. However, this isn’t a role focused on day-to-day channel delivery. SEO activity will be delivered by relevant specialists, while your role will be to ensure the right activity, resource, and priorities are in place. You’ll also have the ability to step in and provide Paid Media/PPC support when required.
This is an opportunity for someone ready to step into a leadership-focused position, take ownership, and help shape how the business continues to grow.
If you’re ambitious, commercially minded, and excited by the opportunity to progress alongside a growing business, this could be a great next step in your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance oversight: Oversee performance across a portfolio of digital accounts, reviewing strategies, KPIs, and trends to ensure activity remains aligned with client objectives.
- Strategic challenge: Work with channel specialists to identify underperformance, understand the reasons behind it, and agree on clear optimisation or recovery plans.
- Paid Media support: Provide Paid Media/PPC support when additional resource or expertise is required, with the ability to step in and assist with campaign strategy, optimisation, and performance.
- Client management: Act as a senior strategic contact for clients, joining performance reviews and strategy meetings and providing clear, commercially focused recommendations.
- Reporting & insight: Review client reporting to ensure it is accurate, insightful, and clearly communicates performance, context, and next steps.
- Quality assurance: Maintain high standards across performance strategies, reporting, and other client-facing outputs.
- Team development: Manage, coach, and support performance specialists, providing feedback, guidance, and development opportunities.
- Resource management: Maintain oversight of workload, priorities, and capacity across the performance team, whilst coordinating internal and external resources where required.
- Account health: Work closely with Account Leads to ensure performance activity supports the wider client relationship and identify potential issues before they become client concerns.
- Commercial performance: Monitor campaign budgets, pacing, and performance, making data-led decisions to improve efficiency and results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
