About The Role
Team Platform Engineering
Working Pattern - Hybrid 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth or London Office. Full-time hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!

What this role is all about
We are looking for a Digital Platforms Engineer to build, support and continuously improve the infrastructure powering Vitality's digital applications. You'll work across cloud, on-premise and DevOps technologies, driving automation, resilience and scalability while playing a key role in platform upgrades and re-platforming initiatives.
Key Actions
- Design, build and support resilient infrastructure and platform services across AWS, GCP and wider digital environments, ensuring they meet the availability, scalability and operational needs of enterprise applications
- Automate the provisioning, configuration and management of infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code practices to improve consistency, repeatability and deployment speed
- Provide day-to-day engineering support across development, test and production environments, balancing planned sprint commitments with incidents, service requests and wider operational priorities
- Investigate and resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues involving Windows and Linux servers, databases, application servers, server scripting and supporting cloud services
- Maintain and improve the DevOps toolchain, including access management, platform upgrades, deployment tooling, monitoring capabilities and CI/CD services used by technical teams
- Manage essential platform components including certificates, API gateways, routing and reverse proxy configurations to maintain secure and reliable communication between applications and services
- Coordinate server and application patching across the digital environment, ensuring technologies remain secure, supported and aligned with cloud and infrastructure best practices
- Work collaboratively with application development, network and infrastructure teams, alongside third-party service providers, to deliver platform changes and resolve cross-functional technical challenges
- Identify opportunities to automate manual activities, strengthen existing processes and contribute practical technical insight to the future direction and roadmap of platform technologies

What do you need to thrive?
- Proven experience building, supporting and troubleshooting highly available enterprise infrastructure and platforms
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or other major cloud platforms, alongside Windows and Linux environments
- Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible or similar Infrastructure as Code and automation tools
- Good understanding of scalable and resilient engineering practices, including auto-scaling, automated failover and deployment strategies
- Experience supporting DevOps toolchains and CI/CD, with exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across technical teams, third-party providers and changing operational priorities
