Whether through magazine advertising, banners, advertorials, webinars, white papers, video, infographics, or other services, DCD offers a suite of bespoke channels to help marketers reach their objectives.

Role Summary

A successful DCD Digital Portfolio Lead will be highly commercial, content-focused, proactive, and a strategic thinker, with the skills to fully own and become “the face” of their digital portfolio, comprising of thematically clustered marketing vehicles across video, online print, supplement & ebooks, and project manage their broadcasts from end-to-end, driving all other functions for the financial success and quality delivery of the final product.

This role involves the ownership of a series of broadcasts streamed live and on-demand to a global audience. The Digital Portfolio Lead will craft bespoke content across their channels, and will be responsible for the curation and management of content within their specific channels.

A core part of the role is the production and project management of a number of DCD broadcasts, designed to attract senior technology professionals working in the data center industry through compelling content. These broadcasts serve our NAM, EMEA & APAC markets – providing exposure to growing and exciting areas of our sector.

As DCD deliver industry-leading broadcasts and events which attract considerable sponsorship revenue, we therefore work to design commercial, content-rich broadcasts and conferences whose content, format and quality is such that:

  • Attendees take away cutting-edge, insightful regional content from key industry thought leaders
  • Sponsors gain access to large, senior and diverse audiences of qualified buyers and purchase influencers, offering a solid, measurable return on investment for our customers
  • Sponsors have a platform to set out their thought leadership credential and thereby influence the purchase decisions of prospective customers
  • DCD stands out from the competition and creates broadcasts and events which are so compelling that delegates and sponsors come to regard them as truly essential
  • Support the DCD mission of being the most visited data center platform, delivering cutting-edge information to support decision making and technical knowledge

Primary Responsibilities

Channel Management

  • Be the creator and curator of world-class content for your channels
  • Own and develop your channels by curating the best content for these both within broadcasts, and across other DCD digital products
  • Develop an engaged community by producing powerful content for digital initiatives and exciting social content to engage audiences

Research and Programme Development

  • Keep primary research at the core of the process – develop high-quality agendas, based on in-depth research with the market – both buy and sell-side, that provide cutting-edge thought leadership, global insights and trends, best practice examples and innovative thinking
  • Conduct research interviews and in-depth industry reading to develop and grow the storylines for your channels across the year
  • Create commercial, market-led broadcasts that deep dive into your channel storylines designed to drive leads and sponsor engagement with qualified buyers and purchase influencers
  • Validate, research and write new content for digital consumption across different platforms such as the agendas, website and social media
  • Identify opportunities and develop relationships to drive future channel growth and success

Speaker Acquisition and Management

  • Identify and acquire world-class, high-profile industry experts that meet the information needs of the target audience
  • Develop a global network of industry peers and contacts, becoming a voice for your sector with the ability to attract the best speaker faculty and channel influencers
  • Work closely with our sponsors to guide them towards the delivery of cutting-edge thought-leading content that supports the programme and meets the audience’s information needs
  • Brief all speakers on the broadcast experience and hold prep calls to provide platform demos and discuss the content and format of their sessions

Deadline Management

  • Consistently produce broadcasts to key deadlines and a market-leading standard
  • Meet all KPIs within required timeframe

Social Marketing

  • Create and manage content to contribute to social media campaigns
  • Record episode previews to drive further subscriptions on owned social channels and effectively showcase your production
  • Carry out video previews/interviews with speakers where appropriate

Broadcast Stream Management

  • Create episodes on the Kaltura webinar platform and hold prep calls with speakers and demo the platform
  • Record and edit pre-recorded episodes in line with DCD house style to create a professional and seamless final product
  • Proof all episode console and slides before the live broadcast to ensure accuracy of information and consistency of look and feel
  • Run the live stream of your broadcasts - get speakers onto the platform, perform sound-checks, troubleshoot issues

Moderation of Sessions

  • Moderate virtual presentations and panels to secure your position as the ‘face’ of the channel, by asking interesting and probing questions designed to enable the speakers and audience to get the most out of the experience
  • Moderate live panels and talks at the DCD>Connect Events to bridge the digital and in-person sessions we produce. Work closely with the Connect Manager to ensure that the talks are relevant and engaging, and meet the nuanced needs of different geographical audiences.

Team Support

  • Work closely and productively with our sponsorship sales, marketing, customer success and operations teams in order to maximise channel quality, revenue and profitability
  • Run regular content catch-ups with the editorial and marketing teams to ensure the most up to date and relevant content is featured in your channels
  • Liaise regularly with the live events team to identify and explore opportunities for collaboration, cross-promotion, content-sharing and commercialisation for your channels

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • University educated, 2:1 or above or equivalent
  • ~2 years’ experience of conference or content production in an events or publication business
  • Digital savvy and digital first mindset
  • Interest in understanding the tech sector and the future of digital infrastructure
  • Experience of working with regional markets including EMEA, NAM and APAC
  • Significant experience in creating and managing content and contributing to social media campaigns
  • A strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to see the ‘big picture’ to support longer term goals
  • Outstanding organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Exceptional writing, attention to detail and proof-reading skills
  • This is a client-facing role, therefore exceptional interpersonal skills are a must to effectively manage relationships and influence key stakeholders
