Toucan International - Digital PR Executive Position

Department: Organic Search Team

Reporting To: Head of Digital PR

Location: Remote

Role highlights:

  • Support on some of our biggest and most exciting accounts across the Digital PR department
  • Help Account Managers deliver strategies and activity across a range of exciting brands
  • Support and lead account activities such as writing press releases, producing media lists, executing outreach for a range of Digital PR activities, liaising with journalists and clients and ultimately delivering results on these accounts
  • Up to 8% employer pension contribution through our Company Pension Scheme
  • Earn up to 10% bonus of annual base salary every year

What’s the role at Toucan International?

The ideal candidate will work alongside the Head of Digital PR and Digital PR Account Managers in delivering the Digital PR strategy on key accounts. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about Digital PR, have a desire to build their knowledge and a grasp of what makes news and how to get a story to press.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • One year’s experience in a Digital PR, PR or content writing role
  • Works well in a dynamic, creative and hard-working team
  • A positive and proactive attitude and someone who is happy getting stuck in to help bring ideas to life
  • Strong experience in copywriting activities and an understanding of what gets coverage
  • Brings plenty of enthusiasm and creativity to ideas sessions, and provides excellent input and suggestions for ideas
  • An understanding of the UK culture and the media landscape
  • An all-round personality who is curious to learn
  • A flair for brainstorming creative ideas and can think conceptually
  • The ability to find the ‘angle’ and create great content using research and data analysis
  • Knowledge of a range of digital PR tactics such as campaigns and reactive
  • A love of writing and have strong verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and understands when to seek support
  • The ability to work in a team and independently
  • Good at problem solving to overcome obstacles
  • Great general knowledge, an interest in pop culture and how it can be leveraged
  • Some experience of software and tools such as Buzzstream, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Accuranker and ChatGPT is desirable but not essential.

DAY-TO-DAY YOU WILL:

  • Report into the Head of Digital PR, you will work to deliver coverage across a range of Digital PR accounts targeting the UK, US and Canada through a range of Digital PR activities
  • Write press releases and content that will be of interest to the UK, US and Canadian media
  • Support Account Managers on Digital PR strategies for your allocated accounts, from ideation through to delivery and reporting
  • Pitch campaigns to relevant journalists in the space to earn media coverage
  • Create well-thought and thorough media lists that land desired coverage
  • Help collect and analyse data to support campaign ideas
  • Create and execute Digital PR activity to gain coverage and backlinks brands
  • Monitor and report on client Digital PR results
  • Use latest news, tools and trends to identify opportunities quickly to create reactive Digital PR activity
  • Develop a strong understanding of the brand’s audience and the industry it works in to deliver the best relevant Digital PR activity
  • Build & maintain relationships with internal and client teams through regular communication and weekly meetings
  • Keep pace with industry trends and developments
