Who we are looking for
The State Street Custody Digital & Fund Services is looking for a candidate to support product development activity for Digital Cash and digital services.
The candidate will lead product development and drive the strategic direction of digital cash for State Street. The candidate will support evolving ideas into pilots and eventually develop products for clients.

As digital asset and platform use cases move toward production, cash and settlement are the critical enablers. Digital Cash underpins subscription, redemption, secondary trading, and lifecycle events across modern servicing models.
This role ensures State Street’s digital cash capabilities integrate seamlessly with global payment rails, messaging standards, and banking platforms, enabling safe, efficient, and compliant settlement for both traditional and digital asset flows.

What you will be responsible for
As Digital Product Development – Digital Cash Lead, you will:
- Lead product development and delivery for digital cash and settlement capabilities
- Define how cash supports delivery‑versus‑payment (DvP) settlement, subscriptions and redemptions, and asset lifecycle and post‑trade cash flows
- Own the product design for cash orchestration across digital and traditional platforms
- Partner closely with custody, asset servicing, and digital platform teams to ensure cash solutions support evolving product models
- Work with payments, core banking, and liquidity teams to align digital cash products with:
- Account structures
- Payment processing platforms
- Intraday and end‑of‑day settlement models
- Translate payment, liquidity, and settlement constraints into clear product requirements and roadmaps
- Develop business cases and prioritisation frameworks for digital cash initiatives
- Collaborate with technology, operations, risk, and compliance to ensure products meet control, resiliency, and regulatory expectations

What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
- 10+ years’ experience in financial services with strong exposure to cash, payments, or custody.
- Deep understanding of institutional cash movement and payment infrastructures.
- Passion for emerging technologies and continuous learning in the digital asset space.
- Strong stakeholder management across product, technology, operations, and control functions.
- Analytical, innovative, and results-driven, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex settlement concepts
Experiences We Value
We welcome applicants who bring depth in one or more of the following areas:
- Designing or delivering cash and settlement solutions within custody or asset servicing environments
- Bridging digital platforms or tokenised products with traditional banking and payment infrastructure
- Experience implementing or operating cash and payments platforms, such as: Temenos Transact, ACI Worldwide MTS / RTPS, Dragonfly Technologies Universal Online Banker
- Technical familiarity with global payment networks and messaging standards, including: ISO 20022 (pacs, camt), Fedwire, CHIPS, ACH, TARGET2 and SEPA
- Orchestration of settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling across complex operating models
- Integration of cash, custody, and third‑party platforms via secure APIs
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of enterprise banking and financial market infrastructures
- Experience delivering products in regulated, control‑heavy environments
- Familiarity with Agile product delivery and structured requirements management
- Consulting or large‑scale transformation experience is a plus
