Role Purpose
To own and evolve the end-to-end digital ecosystem supporting a modern IFA business. The role sits at the intersection of advice technology, operations and client experience, with responsibility for connecting core systems —these include IFA back-office platforms, risk-profiling tools, cashflow-forecasting systems, advice engines, AI tooling and client and adviser-facing platforms.
The postholder owns the processes, data flows and user journeys across these systems, ensuring they are efficient, scalable and aligned to regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Chief Operations & Technology Officer, they also help shape and deliver next-generation digital products across compliance, adviser automation and client self-service.
Key Responsibilities
— Product ownership and strategy
- Own the digital product stack across advice, operations and client engagement — internally referred to as “the puzzle”.
- Define and maintain the product roadmap, aligned to business strategy.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and scalability.
- Act as the bridge between business, technology and compliance.
— Process and data ownership
- Map, design and optimise end-to-end advice and servicing workflows.
- Own the data architecture and flow between systems (CRM, back office, risk tools, forecasting, platforms).
- Ensure data integrity, consistency and auditability across the advice journey.
- Reduce duplication and manual intervention across systems.
— Platform and system integration
- Manage integrations between back-office systems, risk profilers, cashflow-modelling tools, investment platforms and AI/advice engines.
- Work with the Chief Operations & Technology Officer (COTO) to design a connected, API-driven ecosystem.
- Evaluate and onboard new technology providers where needed.
— AI and automation
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled advice tools and workflows.
- Identify use cases across adviser productivity (fact-find, suitability, recommendations), compliance automation, and client interaction and servicing.
- Support the development of an AI-powered advice engine.
— Customer product development
- Help create digital products with the Chief Operations & Technology (COTO) focused on compliance tooling (file checking, audit trails, suitability support), adviser automation (workflow automation, recommendations, data capture) and client self-service (portals, onboarding, engagement tools).
- Translate business needs into clear product requirements and user stories.
- Support delivery from concept through to launch.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
