Senior Digital Product Manager (Cloud Infrastructure) (Inside IR35)
On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Senior Digital Product Manager(Cloud Infrastructure) (Inside IR35) for a 18 Months contract based Hybrid/ in Corsham.
About the MOD
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.
The MOD is one of the biggest public procurement organisations in Europe and the single largest customer for UK industry. It currently manages approximately £20 billion of spend on capital investments in equipment and infrastructure every year. Over the next decade the MOD is committed to spending over £190 billion on equipment and support. The MOD’s customers include both the armed forces and national security agencies, and it has a diverse range of requirements, including military fighting vehicles, education services, nuclear submarines and facilities management.
The MOD’s aim is to provide its armed forces with the best capabilities to enable them to protect the UK’s security and advance national interests, both now and in the long term.
To do this the MOD has an annual budget of almost £53 billion and a workforce comprising 197,000 people. Of which 54,000 are civilians working for the UK MOD.

Role Overview
As a Senior Digital Product Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead products through different phases of the product life cycle, from discovery, through development, delivery and continuous improvement, to retirement
- Make decisions based on the overall quality and value of your products
- Manage associate product managers and product managers
- Be involved in recruiting associate product managers, product managers and contractors
- Set and explain the product vision, strategy and roadmap, making sure the product delivers clear value for users and the organisation.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to agree priorities, make decisions based on evidence and deliver outcomes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Manage the product backlog, balancing user needs, organisational priorities, delivery risks and technical constraints.
- Use data, user research and operational insight to find ways to improve products and services.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, agree priorities, resolve issues and influence decisions.
- Make sure products deliver the intended outcomes, provide value for money and support organisational goals.

Essential Requirements
- Proven expertise in driving product strategy, roadmap planning, and end-to-end product lifecycle management.
- Strong experience translating customer and business needs into scalable product solutions.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, design, and business teams.
- Data-driven decision maker with expertise in product analytics, KPI tracking, and market insights.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize features, manage backlogs, and deliver high-impact product outcomes.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with experience influencing executive and technical stakeholders.
Desirable Requirements
- Understanding of modern platform architectures and cloud-native technologies.
- Awareness of containerisation technologies such as Docker and container-based application deployment models.
- Understanding of Kubernetes and its role in hosting, scaling and managing applications.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Awareness of infrastructure-as-code, platform engineering and self-service developer platforms.
- Understanding of security, resilience and operational considerations for digital services.
- Experience working closely with architects, engineers and service teams to deliver technical products and platforms.
- Awareness of cloud hosting environments such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
