An exciting opportunity has come up to join Emerson's Measurement Solutions UK&I sales team as a Digital Sales Engineer

The successful Digital Sales Engineer is a driven individual with a passion for sales and technology, who excels in a remote and connected digital environment. The Digital Sales Engineer is responsible for growing sales within a dedicated territory, through the assigned light touch accounts as well as generating business from new accounts, collaborating with the marketing team to execute targeted sales campaigns to defined segments and stakeholders.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Territory management. Utilise digital tools to remotely engage with existing and potential customers in the territory, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
  • Prospecting & new customer acquisition. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through digital channels expanding our customer base within targeted industry segments.
  • Sales campaign deployment. Work closely with the marketing team implementing sales campaigns aimed at specific industries and customer segments. Introduce new products and solutions to existing customers.
  • Product knowledge. Obtain in-depth knowledge of the products and solutions for each sales campaign and be able to effectively communicate the value proposition to customers.
  • Hunter mentality. Demonstrate persistence and determination in overcoming obstacles and securing sales. Don't take "no" for an answer.
  • Relationship building. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through consistent follow-up and excellent customer service.
  • Collaboration. Orchestrate the support of subject matter experts, product or solutions experts or other company stakeholders to create a compelling and differentiating value proposition for the selected customers.
  • Price. Realise price through using the portfolio to create customer value. Close deals with a sense of urgency whilst ensuring the best possible price.
  • Digital tools proficiency: Utilize CRM systems, sales automation tools (e.g. Salesloft), and digital marketing platforms (e.g. IIR, Zoominfo, LinkedIn) to identify opportunities, enhance sales efforts, maximise return and track performance.
  • Reporting & analysis: Provide regular reports on sales activities, campaign effectiveness, and market feedback to the sales manager.

Who You Are:

  • You are a results-driven sales professional with a passion for creating value for customers. You are comfortable operating technology, leveraging data and sales tools to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships and drive business growth. You demonstrate a proactive and persistent approach to sales, with the ability to navigate challenges, engage effectively with stakeholders and convert opportunities into results. You have a strong hunter mentality, proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, opening doors with prospective customers and creating demand through targeted prospecting, networking and value-based engagement. You are collaborative by nature, commercially focused, customer-centric and accountable for delivering results, with the agility and curiosity to continuously develop your knowledge and adapt to a changing market.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Background and experience in Sales and Engineering, with a consistent track record of direct selling in a B2B environment
  • Experience in engaging with customers through digital platforms and driving e-commerce plans
  • Consistent record of securing new business with existing customers.
  • Business acumen and understanding of commercial contracts
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with the Emerson portfolio – technical expertise not required but an appreciation and ability to understand product applications.
  • Ability to develop successful cross functional relationships internally, within a matrix organisation
  • Demonstrate a pro-active, flexible and pragmatic approach
