About Serco
At Serco, we redesign public services to improve lives, strengthen communities, and drive public value through intelligent, data-driven, and AI-enabled solutions. As a Digital Strategic Bids Architect, you’ll lead the design of transformative digital solutions for critical public sector programmes, shaping the future of how governments serve citizens.
Our work spans defence, transport, justice, healthcare, and citizen services—delivered through a team of 50,000+ innovators around the world. Together, we foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement, as demonstrated by awards like the Gold Inclusive Employer Standard.
About the Role
Shape the next generation of digital public services by designing cutting-edge AI-driven, data-enabled, and cloud-delivered solutions that deliver real impact. Partner with CXOs, Chief Digital Officers, and Directors of Transformation to craft visionary yet deliverable strategies that enhance citizen experiences, operational efficiency, and service performance.
You’ll work alongside global technology leaders (AWS, Microsoft, Google, ServiceNow, etc.) to modernise public services, bridge innovation with practicality, and prioritise ethical, sustainable, and secure outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Engage senior stakeholders – Influence decision-makers at CXO and Director level across government and public sector organisations.
- Lead bid shaping & solution design – Craft next-generation digital, data, and AI strategies for major public-sector transformation programmes.
- Drive opportunity shaping – Play a pivotal role in defining and influencing market opportunities for strategic bids.
- Promote citizen-centric design – Lead user-centric problem-solving with a focus on productivity, efficiency, and experience—not just architectural excellence.
- Integrate emerging technologies – Leverage cloud, automation, AI, and data to improve service performance, citizen engagement, and government efficiency.
- Collaborate with delivery partners – Ensure architectural integrity, governance, and feasibility from design through mobilisation.
- Partner with tech innovators – Align with global providers (AWS, Microsoft, Google) to bring transformative innovations to the public sector.
- Champion ethical & responsible AI – Embed transparency, inclusion, and accountability in every solution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
