Cubaka is an award-winning Social Media agency based in the UK that works with brands such as Braskem, Sodexo, National Grid, The Dow Chemical Company, F&C Investment Trust, Virgin and Virgin Red and Avanti West Coast Trains, amongst others.
We are a friendly mix of Strategists, Creatives, Account Managers, Media Planners and Buyers - all with one goal: creating work that wins people's time on social media, in the most exciting ways possible.
Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Digital Strategist to join our Social & Content team, helping turn complex client challenges into clear, actionable strategies.
We help brands connect with the right audiences, in the right places, with the right message. Our work spans social strategy, content, community, paid amplification and measurement, supporting recognised B2B and B2C brands.
This is a consultative role. You will work closely with clients to understand their objectives, challenge assumptions where appropriate and translate business and marketing goals into practical audience, channel and content recommendations.
You will take ownership of strategic projects across a portfolio of clients, with a particular focus on B2B brands. Your focus will be helping brands identify who they need to reach, where they should focus their efforts, how they can grow and engage audiences, and what content will help them achieve their objectives.
You will work closely with Client Partnership, Design, Content and Paid Media teams, ensuring strategic thinking is carried through from the initial brief into creative development, activation and measurement. You will understand how organic content, paid distribution and channel activity work together, although you will not be expected to deliver paid media activity directly.
This role would suit someone who has moved beyond reporting on channel performance and can explain what a brand should do next, why it matters and how it can be delivered.
As a Digital Strategist (Social & Content) at Cubaka, you will:
- Lead the development of social and content strategies across a portfolio of B2B and B2C clients.
- Translate broad or ambiguous client briefs into clearly defined objectives, strategic priorities and actionable recommendations.
- Develop audience strategies that identify who clients need to reach, what motivates those audiences and how brands can build meaningful relationships with them.
- Define the role of different social channels within the wider customer journey, recommending where clients should focus their time, content and investment.
- Create channel strategies and audience growth plans across organic and paid social ecosystems.
- Use audience research, social listening, competitor analysis, platform data and cultural insight to inform strategic direction.
- Turn strategic recommendations into focused creative briefs, working closely with designers, content creators and other specialists to guide the development of effective work.
- Partner with the Paid Media team to ensure organic content, paid amplification, targeting and channel investment work together effectively.
- Work closely with Client Services to maintain strategic alignment, support client relationships and identify opportunities to add further value.
- Establish measurement frameworks and meaningful KPIs that connect social and content activity to wider marketing and business objectives.
- Interpret campaign and channel performance, moving beyond reporting to explain what the results mean and what should happen next.
- Present strategies, insights and recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Support and mentor Associate Strategists, helping them strengthen their research, analysis and strategic thinking.
- Stay informed about platform developments, algorithm changes, emerging formats, audience behaviours and wider cultural trends.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Experience challenging a brief constructively and explaining your thinking without becoming overly theoretical or prescriptive.

- A collaborative working style and experience building productive relationships across Strategy, Client Services, Design, Content and Paid Media teams.
- Curiosity about how digital behaviour, technology, culture and platforms are changing, alongside the judgement to separate meaningful developments from short-term trends.
