Deputy General Manager and Show Secretary (Maternity cover)
Overseeing the management of the Kent Event Centre, Society events including the Kent County Show and an education programme, this will be a fulfilling role for the right candidate. This is a maternity cover position (up to 13-month contract).
Reporting to the Chairman of the Board, the Deputy General Manager and Show Secretary will ensure effective and efficient work processes and support the overall delivery of the strategic plan of the Society. You will be required to work with a small team to deliver a wide range of events, conferences and long-term projects as well as ensuring the maintenance and health and safety at the Kent Showground is delivered to the highest standard.
Required Experience
- Previous experience of budget control, middle or senior management and a background in venue management or event organisation is essential.
- Candidates should hold a related business degree or have the relevant commercial experience.
- Knowledge of the land-based sector would be beneficial.

Contract Details
- This position will be full or part time depending on the business needs of the Society in the current climate and also the commitments of the successful candidate.
- This is a maternity cover contract lasting up to 13 months.
- It will include some evening and weekend work throughout the year.
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 pro-rata if part time
