Looking to start your career in transport and logistics?
A&D Logistics is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable apprentice to join our busy traffic office. This role would suit a school or college leaver, or someone looking to begin a career in transport administration.
No previous transport or administration experience is required. We will provide training and support to help you build your confidence, develop practical office skills and learn how a transport operation works.
Working alongside our experienced team, you will learn how to manage customer bookings and ensure jobs have the information needed to run efficiently, from booking through to invoicing.
With training and support, you will:
- Communicate with customers by telephone, email and digital communication platforms to confirm collection and delivery addresses, loading and unloading times, and equipment requirements.
- Accurately enter and manage job bookings using our transport management system (TOPS) and other business software.
- Use digital scheduling and diary management tool to check bookings and ensure all job information is complete, accurate and up to date.
- Review booking records and proactively follow up with customers and colleagues to obtain any missing information before scheduled job dates.
- Use SharePoint and Falcon to securely store, organise and access customer, booking and operational documentation.
- Assist with calculating and communicating cancellation fees, waiting time charges and additional service costs using company systems and templates.
- Support the setup and maintenance of new customer accounts, ensuring information is recorded correctly within internal databases.
- Handle customer enquiries and provide updates using telephone systems, email and customer portals.
- Monitor booking and operational information, escalating missing details, service delays or customer concerns to the transport planning team.
- Use Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel, alongside document management systems to support day-to-day office activities.
- Support the office with digital filing, document scanning, data entry and other general duties.
- Learn and follow company policies, procedures, data protection requirements and incident reporting processes, maintaining accurate records through company systems.
- Develop confidence using a range of transport and communication technologies to support efficient business operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
