Digital Support & Social Media Apprentice

Open Door Scotland has been working with homeless and vulnerable young people in West Lothian for over 30 years. They are now seeking a Digital Support & Social Media Apprentice.

Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for incoming enquiries via telephone, email, and social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, responding professionally, and directing enquiries to the appropriate team member
  • Using Microsoft Outlook to manage inboxes, schedule meetings, and maintain effective communication with colleagues, supporters, and external stakeholders
  • Become a system expert in systems such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and cloud-based document management platforms such as SharePoint to record, update, and maintain information accurately using digital filing systems
  • Organising and managing digital files, emails, and shared folders, ensuring information is stored correctly and can be accessed efficiently by the wider team
  • Collaborating digitally with colleagues through Microsoft Teams, participating in meetings, sharing updates, and supporting day-to-day administration activities
  • Using Microsoft Excel to maintain records, track information, update databases, and produce reports when required
  • Creating and scheduling social media content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, using digital marketing and content management tools
  • Using graphic design software such as Canva to create engaging social media posts, promotional materials, leaflets, and digital content
  • Monitoring social media engagement, responding to messages and comments where appropriate, and supporting campaigns to increase awareness of the charity's services
  • Support with updating and maintaining company websites using platforms such as Webflow, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligned to brand guidelines. Assist with creating, editing, and publishing web pages, uploading digital content, monitoring website performance, and helping to improve the overall user experience

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
