The project and your role
You'll join a digital engineering team responsible for a set of guest-facing digital products: a guest portal, a loyalty platform, a public-facing booking website, and an AI concierge and booking assistant, all built on a modern, cloud-native stack. As Digital Tech Lead, you will be the most senior hands-on engineer on the team, setting technical direction while staying embedded in the code and the delivery itself.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across all digital engineering delivery — setting standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and release management
- Lead architecture and solution design for new digital features and products, working with the Integration Architect to keep alignment with the wider architecture
- Conduct code reviews and architecture assessments with nearshore partner teams, ensuring outputs meet the required engineering standards
- Actively contribute to delivery — writing code, building features, and shipping working software alongside the product engineering team
- Own the technical definition of user stories — breaking down business requirements into well-scoped engineering tasks and acceptance criteria
- Introduce and embed modern engineering practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerisation, code quality gates
- Act as the technical accountability lead for nearshore digital engineering partner teams — reviewing architectures, assessing quality, and ensuring delivery meets required standards
- Identify and address performance gaps in partner engineering quality and velocity
- Mentor and develop internal Data & Digital Product Engineers in digital engineering best practices
- Contribute to engineering capability build — tooling, practices, and onboarding standards for new engineers

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
