Your Role And Responsibilities

The Full Stack Application Developer will support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of digital services and internal applications within a UK public sector environment.

The role will involve working across frontend and backend technologies to deliver secure, accessible, and user-focused applications in line with government digital and security standards.

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team and contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Build and support backend services and APIs using Node.js.
  • Design, query, and maintain PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
  • Support scripting, automation, and data processing activities using Python where required.
  • Contribute to solution design, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve application defects, bugs, and performance issues.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across delivery teams.
  • Ensure applications align with public sector standards relating to security, accessibility, and data protection.
  • Follow established development processes, source control practices, and release procedures.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Experience developing and supporting full stack web applications.
  • Working knowledge of React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Experience using relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern application architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to produce clear, maintainable, and well-structured code.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
