Digital Trader

Our digital customer journey is an important part of how we do business at Screwfix. From finding the right product, to navigating the site, seeing the right promotion and ultimately making a purchase, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to make that journey work well.

That’s where you come in.

As a Digital Trader, you’ll work alongside a Digital Trading Manager to deliver the trading plans across our UK & Ireland digital channels, helping to drive sales, improve conversion and make sure our customers can find what they need as easily as possible.

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day trading activity across your categories, using data and insight to spot opportunities, understand what’s working and make changes where it isn’t. That could mean reviewing category performance, responding to competitor activity, optimising promotions or making sure products are merchandised in the right way across search, navigation, recommendations and landing pages.

You’ll work closely with teams across commercial, marketing, campaigns, pricing and merchandising, so there’s plenty of variety and plenty of people to work with. You’ll also get involved in testing and deploying digital activity, making sure promotions and content are accurate and ready to go live.

What's in it for you?

  • Discretionary annual bonus up to 20%
  • 33 days' holiday (including bank holidays, 5 of which can be taken flexibly)
  • Hybrid working
  • Flexible start and end times around core working hours
  • Buy More Holiday - eligible colleagues can boost their holiday allowance by up to one extra week
  • EV Car Scheme in Partnership with Tusker - eligible colleagues can lease a brand-new or pre-loved electric vehicle
  • Up to 14% employer pension contributions
  • Life cover up to 4x your salary
  • Health cash plan and discounted gym memberships (up to 25% savings)
  • 20% discount at Screwfix and B&Q

Responsibilities

  • Support the Digital Trading Manager in delivering category strategies and trading plans across the UK & IE markets, driving website and app sales whilst achieving revenue targets.
  • Manage day-to-day digital trading activity for assigned categories, identifying and executing trading opportunities, mitigating risks, and ensuring all activity is measurable and optimised for performance.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on category performance, providing accurate insights, identifying opportunities and risks, and supporting periodic reviews, trading plans and deep dives.
  • Collaborate with commercial, marketing, campaign and pricing teams to align digital trading priorities, optimise traffic and promotions, and ensure compliant execution of pricing and promotional activity.
  • Work closely with merchandising teams to maximise product discoverability through search, navigation, facets, banners, product recommendations and associations, driving conversion and revenue growth.
  • Manage the addition, removal and merchandising of products, ensuring online content remains relevant, accurate and aligned to trading priorities.
  • Create and deploy campaign landing pages, promotional URLs and merchandising assets, ensuring all activity is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing and promotions, sharing insights to support commercial decision-making and trading strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the customer experience across digital platforms.
  • Test all promotions within the test environments ahead of go live and ensuring that all corrections and amends are briefed and executed within the timelines.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
