Digital Trading Executive
We’re looking for a Digital Trading Executive to join our Digital Trading team. You’ll support the growth of Digital sales through wickes.co.uk, apps, and online-in-store. You’ll focus on:
- Supporting the execution of the Trading Plan on digital platforms
- Operating web merchandising systems and platforms to support category sales
- Gathering performance insights, and help to translate them into actions / interventions
What you’ll be doing
Trading Plan delivery
- Support the delivery of the trading plan, working with management and colleagues in the day to day implementations. Focus on a range of categories, and ensure campaigns are delivered timely and as per brief.
- The trading plan consists of time limited promotions, price savings, range reviews and newness, etc. The Digital Trading Executive will specifically focus on briefing, updating and checking content related to the Trading Plan.
- On occasion, directly upload / update the website using content management systems.
eCommerce
- Work across a set of tools and systems to optimise the website performance and grow sales.
- This includes, but is not limited to: Site Search, visual merchandising, category landing pages, reviews, bundling, social proofing, product presentation, cross / up sell, navigation, etc.
- Working alongside colleagues internally (Digital Experience, Product Owners, etc.) and third parties (Agencies, Service Suppliers).
- The Digital Trading Executive will be an active collaborator in that space, and will be an expert in operating these tools and systems.
Customer journeys
- Ensure the Website and other elements of the digital ecosystem are up to date, by ensuring regular walk-throughs of the category.
- Working and supporting management, utilise analytics and insights platforms to understand friction points in the journeys, how customers enter and navigate the website, for each category, and propose updates, improvements, tests, quick win actions, etc. to optimise conversion rates and sales, working alongside the Digital Experience team.

Stakeholders management
- Work closely with counterparts in the Commercial team (Buyers, Planners), and develop an effective relationship.
- Share and discuss performance, insights and how to optimise the sales of the categories through digital.
Reporting & Insights
- Help to provide additional insights on eCommerce performance to understand what drives Sales, and support recommendations for specific interventions to optimise performance.
- Focus on KPIs such as Inbound Traffic, Conversion Rate, Path to purchase, ATV, etc. with the ability to present relevant reports & insights at category level.
- Produce relevant reports using Google Analytics, Contentsquare, or system specific data points.
What we’re looking for
- Ideally you’ll be educated to Degree level or equivalent with 2+ years experience in digital eCommerce and website trading.
- We will, however, consider graduates with potential and who have studied and/or trained in the Digital marketing / ecommerce field.
- You’ll have a first experience across some of eCommerce elements such as product discovery / search, visual merchandising, trading.
- You will understand eCommerce KPIs (e.g. traffic, conversion, atv, path to purchase, etc.) and feel at ease with numbers.
- Have excellent planning and organisation skills, and ensure on time delivery.
- Will be able to build relationships and liaise with business and external stakeholders.
- Will understand CRO principles, and how it translates to actions and/or testing.
- Will have experience of product discovery and/or “searchandising” (Bloomreach, Algolia, etc.).
- Have used Google Analytics / GA4.
- Have used Contentsquare or equivalent.
- Experience of Dynamic Yield or equivalent personalisation / experimentation systems.
- Experience of CMS systems, Google Sheets / Excel.
- Will be able to work under tight deadlines on occasions, in a fast paced environment.
- Are willing to learn by doing, and from others.
