About The Role

As a Digital Trading Manager, you'll play a critical role in driving digital category growth across Dunelm.

Reporting to the Senior Digital Trading Manager, you'll be part of our Customer Team and responsible for the day-to-day trading performance of your assigned categories across our digital platforms. Combining strategic planning with hands-on execution, you'll work in partnership with Commercial teams to identify opportunities, develop growth plans, and use digital trading levers to maximise sales, conversion, customer engagement, and profitability.

Using insight, data, and customer behaviour trends, you'll help shape category strategies, optimise the digital experience, and ensure trading opportunities are translated into actions that deliver measurable business impact.

This is a highly collaborative role that sits at the heart of Digital, Commercial, and Customer decision-making, working closely with stakeholders across the business to drive category performance and deliver an exceptional customer experience on Dunelm.com.

What you'll be doing

Strategic Category Partnership

  • Act as the lead digital category champion for those categories assigned to you.
  • Build strong relationships with the commercial leadership teams.
  • Influence decisions using your digital expertise, presenting data, customer insight, and performance analysis reinforcing the sentiment of ‘digital first’.
  • Ensure digital priorities and opportunities are embedded within category strategies, business plans, and investment decisions.
  • Align stakeholders around initiatives that drive growth, improve customer experience, and support wider business objectives.

Digital Trading, Growth & Performance Management

  • Own the digital performance of your categories, delivering growth across sales, conversion, profitability, and customer engagement, with a focus on Home Delivery and Click & Collect.
  • Develop and execute category growth plans aligned to commercial objectives, translating strategy into actionable digital trading plans and initiatives.
  • Drive in-week trading performance through proactive monitoring, analysis, and optimisation of category, campaign, and product performance.
  • Analyse the end-to-end customer funnel to identify barriers to conversion, improve customer experience, and maximise commercial performance.
  • Deliver and optimise promotional, trading, and merchandising activity to improve traffic, conversion, availability, product performance, and customer engagement.
  • Use data, customer insight, market intelligence, and competitor analysis to understand the market, performance drivers, and to identify opportunities.
  • Maintain a high-quality online experience through regular site hygiene checks, ensuring strong buyability, shopability, brand consistency, and content standards while proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Translate insight into clear recommendations, forecasts, and actions, influencing stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Apply a test-and-learn approach, using experimentation and optimisation to continuously improve customer experience and commercial performance.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with other key stakeholders, including - Commercial, Digital Marketing, Campaign, Brand Marketing, App, Insights and Analytics, and Optimisation & User Research teams to deliver joined-up category plans.
  • Support campaign and launch planning with clear digital objectives and performance outcomes & targets, ensuring effort is matched with a relevant ROI.
  • Share best practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of Digital Trading ways of working.

What we'll look for in you

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience within digital trading, ecommerce, category management, or digital strategy.
  • Proven track record of driving commercial growth within an online retail environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience in using web analytics tools including Google Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce performance drivers, customer behaviour, and onsite trading principles.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and working cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Product, Analytics, and Technology teams.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of customer insight, experimentation, and conversion optimisation techniques.
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels and customer acquisition strategies.
  • The use of Content Square or other website engagement software.
