Team Overview

The IT department ensures the smooth operation and security of all technology systems across Alternative Heat. From managing hardware and software to supporting network infrastructure and cybersecurity, the team enables employees to work efficiently and securely. They also lead digital innovation initiatives, providing technical solutions that enhance collaboration, data management, and overall business performance.

Role Overview

Lead the identification, evaluation and delivery of business improvement, automation and technology initiatives across the company.

The role is responsible for helping the business make informed decisions on systems, technology investments and transformation priorities. Working closely with directors and senior managers, the postholder will develop business cases, assess opportunities, provide recommendations and oversee delivery of key initiatives.

Job Details

  • Job Title: Digital Transformation & Automation Manager
  • Location: Dundalk
  • Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm
  • Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience
  • Responsible to: IT Systems Manager

What You'll be Doing

  • Shaping and delivering the company's digital transformation strategy by developing a clear technology roadmap, assessing current systems and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and business value.
  • Providing strategic decision support through the preparation of business cases, investment recommendations and plans for system upgrades, consolidation or replacement, ensuring technology investments align with organizational priorities.
  • Leading digital transformation and automation initiatives, driving the effective use of technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot to streamline processes, reduce manual effort and improve visibility of information.
  • Overseeing the successful delivery of projects from planning through implementation, managing budgets, risks and resources while ensuring business adoption and measurable outcomes.
  • Providing strong leadership to the Business Systems and Automation team by setting objectives, developing capability, managing performance, allocating resources and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and future leadership development.
