Role Purpose

The Digital Transformation Executive is the hands-on delivery engine behind CU Phosco's transformation agenda. The core purpose of this role is to drive real, measurable change in how the business works day-to-day: finding manual, slow, or error-prone processes across Design, Manufacture, and Commercial teams, and personally building the technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that fix them.

This is a builder's role, not a coordination or reporting role. The successful candidate will spend a significant proportion of their time actually constructing automations, dashboards, workflows, and AI-assisted tools along with implementing existing tools currently available to turn strategic pillar plans into working solutions that colleagues use every day.

To apply, please send your CV and a short covering letter to Chris Marques at chris.marques@cuphosco.com.

Key Responsibilities

Process Discovery & Automation Delivery

  • Map current-state processes across divisions (e.g. quoting, invoicing, design calculations, project tracking, supplier and OEM onboarding) to identify manual effort, duplication, and bottlenecks.
  • Design and build automated workflows using tools, to remove repetitive manual tasks.
  • Digitalise manual and paper-based processes into structured, scalable tools, with a view to migrating high-value processes onto shared platforms over time.
  • Quantify the impact of each automation delivered (time saved, error rates reduced, cycle time improved) and report this to leadership.
  • Maintain and continuously improve automations already in production, ensuring they remain reliable as business processes evolve.

AI Enablement & Applied AI Tooling

  • Identify practical opportunities to apply AI, including generative AI, to real business problems: drafting proposals, technical documentation and reports; summarising long documents; extracting data from unstructured sources such as supplier certificates, drawings, or invoices; and supporting first-line internal queries.
  • Build, prompt-engineer, and pilot small-scale AI-assisted tools with real users, iterating based on feedback before wider rollout.
  • Establish simple quality-control routines for AI outputs (spot-checking, human review steps) so AI-assisted processes remain accurate and trusted.
  • Stay current on practical, business-relevant developments in automation and AI tooling, and proactively propose where they could be applied at CU Phosco.
  • Flag data sensitivity, accuracy, intellectual property, or governance concerns to senior leadership before scaling any AI-assisted process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Data & Reporting Enablement

  • Cleanse, structure, and analyse source data (e.g. sales and margin ledgers, project trackers, supplier data) to support fact-based decision-making.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and live trackers that give leadership real-time visibility of performance, replacing static, manually compiled reports.
  • Support the design of clean, consistent data structures and naming conventions that make future automation and AI initiatives faster and cheaper to deliver.
  • Help establish a "single version of the truth" for key operational and commercial metrics.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Support the rollout of new digital tools and automations with clear documentation, training materials, and hands-on user support.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for colleagues adapting to new, automated ways of working, building confidence and reducing resistance to change in a traditionally engineering-led culture.
  • Run short user training sessions and build simple how-to guides and short videos where useful.
  • Gather structured user feedback and feed it into ongoing improvement, tracking adoption rather than assuming it.

Systems & Vendor Coordination

  • Support research, evaluation, and rollout of new systems (ERP/CRM/PLM) and automation/AI platforms under the guidance of senior transformation and digital leadership.
  • Act as liaison between technical/systems implementation teams (internal or vendor) and business users, translating between the two.
  • Support testing, data migration validation, and user acceptance activities during system implementations.

Key Relationships

  • Pillar owners and divisional leads across Design, Manufacture, Finance, Sales, and Operations teams
  • International colleagues
  • External systems, automation, and AI technology vendors

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Digital Transformation, Engineering, Computer Science, Data, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a business analyst, transformation, digital, process improvement or systems role.
  • Hands-on experience building automations or workflows (e.g. Power Automate, VBA/macros, low-code platforms, Python, SQL, or similar). Candidates should be able to point to something they have personally built and put into use.
  • Practical experience using AI tools (e.g. generative AI/LLM-based tools) to solve real work problems, even informally.
  • Experience working with data analysis in Excel; exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools and to business systems (ERP/CRM) advantageous.
  • Manufacturing, engineering, or infrastructure sector experience is a plus but not essential.

Skills & Competencies

  • A genuine builder's mindset who enjoys solving problems by creating practical tools and automations, not just documenting or reporting on them.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with messy data and translating it into clear insight.
  • Curious and proactive about new automation and AI tools, with the judgement to know where they add real value and where they don't.
  • Able to influence and win trust with sceptical, practically-minded colleagues.
  • Well organised, able to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills; confident presenting to and working with senior stakeholders.
  • Ambition to grow into a senior digital transformation leadership role over time.

Career Path

This role is explicitly designed as a growth pathway. A strong performer will progress toward Digital Transformation Manager/Lead, and ultimately toward Chief Digital Transformation Officer, taking on greater ownership of systems, strategy, budget, and team leadership as CU Phosco's digital and AI capability matures.

Salary & Benefits

The package below reflects a hands-on delivery role with a defined development pathway toward senior digital transformation leadership. It is benchmarked against UK business analyst, digital transformation and process improvement roles outside London, with an allowance for the breadth of automation and applied AI skills required.

Salary

  • Base salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience and demonstrable delivery track record.
  • Performance bonus: up to 20% of base salary, linked to agreed transformation outcomes.
  • Salary reviewed annually, with an out-of-cycle review at 12 months to reflect progression against the career pathway set out above.

Benefits

  • Company pension scheme with employer contributions above the statutory minimum.
  • 24 days' annual leave plus UK bank holidays, and Birthday.
  • Hybrid working: typically three days per week at the UK Head Office, with flexibility around divisional travel.
  • Dedicated annual training and certification budget to support progression.
  • Paid professional membership and relevant conference attendance.
  • Company laptop and the software licences needed to build and pilot automation and AI tooling.
  • Travel expenses for occasional travel across CU Phosco's divisions.
