Digital Transformation Lead – AI & Microsoft Consultancy
Salary: £60,000–£80,000 depending on experience + Equity/Share Options
Location: Remote-first, with approximately one day per week in Central London
The Opportunity
A fast-growing AI and Microsoft consultancy is looking for an experienced Digital Transformation Lead to lead client engagements, strengthen its consultancy capability and contribute to the continued commercial growth of the business.
Although the title is Digital Transformation Lead, this is fundamentally a consulting-focused, client-facing position. It is not a purely technical, programme delivery or internal transformation role.
You’ll need to be comfortable working directly with enterprise clients, understanding their challenges, shaping transformation strategies and turning early-stage conversations into successful consulting engagements.
Alongside overseeing delivery, you’ll help grow existing accounts, identify new prospects and support the consultancy in winning further work. You’ll be expected to bring strong market awareness, an established professional network and the confidence to open doors with potential clients.
You’ll also lead and develop a growing team of consultants and engineers, including junior talent progressing through the company’s internal AI Academy.
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop New Business and Client Opportunities
- Identify and engage new prospects that could benefit from the consultancy’s AI, Microsoft and digital transformation capabilities.
- Use your professional network and market knowledge to create introductions and open conversations with prospective clients.
- Lead early-stage client discussions to understand business challenges, transformation priorities and potential opportunities.
- Help shape consulting propositions, proposals, statements of work and client presentations.
- Work closely with the leadership team to convert opportunities into new consulting engagements.
- Represent the consultancy confidently in client meetings, at industry events and across relevant professional networks.
- Contribute directly to pipeline development, account growth and the wider commercial success of the business.
Lead Client Consultancy Engagements
- Take ownership of digital and technology transformation engagements from discovery through to delivery.
- Work with senior stakeholders to understand their organisation, operating model, challenges and transformation objectives.
- Translate technology capabilities into clear business cases, transformation roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
- Provide clients with credible advice, constructive challenge and strategic direction.
- Ensure engagements deliver meaningful business value rather than simply meeting timelines and milestones.
- Identify risks, blockers and delivery issues before they affect outcomes or client relationships.
- Maintain high consultancy standards across discovery, recommendations, governance, delivery and stakeholder communication.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Grow Existing Client Accounts

- Ensure clients clearly understand the value and outcomes being delivered.
- Strengthen client retention through consistently high-quality consulting and delivery.
- Balance excellent client outcomes with strong commercial awareness.
Lead and Develop the Team
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to consultants and engineers.
- Help consultants strengthen their discovery, advisory, stakeholder-management and commercial skills.

The Technology Environment
The consultancy delivers transformation initiatives across the Microsoft ecosystem, including:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Power Platform
- Microsoft Copilot
- AI agents and AI-enabled solutions
- Microsoft 365
- AI governance, adoption and organisational change
You do not need to be a hands-on developer or a specialist across every technology.
However, you must be technically credible, able to quickly understand emerging technologies and capable of translating them into meaningful business outcomes and consulting opportunities.
Experience working with AI, Microsoft, Copilot or another major enterprise technology ecosystem would be highly beneficial.
What We’re Looking For
This opportunity is best suited to someone who has developed their career within a technology consultancy, digital transformation consultancy, Microsoft Partner or comparable client-facing professional services environment.
Candidates from purely internal transformation, technical delivery or programme-management backgrounds are unlikely to have the breadth of consulting and commercial experience required.
