Closing Date: 30th September 2026 Location: Bristol (Science Creates, Old Market) Job Title: Digitalisation Intern Job Type: Internship – Fixed-Term (3–5 months) Salary: Competitive
About the Role
We’re hiring a Digitalisation Intern to help modernise and streamline our laboratory and materials processes – how we capture, manage and use experimental data across our R&D activities. This is a hands-on, project-focused role at the intersection of scientific research, software development, and digital infrastructure.
Over a 3–5 month placement, you’ll work closely with our research and technical teams to identify manual or paper-based workflows and build practical digital solutions to improve them — from data capture and storage through to automation and analysis. You will bring fresh ideas, help embed new tools, and make a tangible impact on how efficiently our facilities operate. If you’re passionate about technology, problem-solving, and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
