As a surveyor, your activities will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with Construction Managers, engineers, and site supervision to plan and schedule the survey requirements for each tagged item
  • Ensure surveys are carried out in a timely manner to allow release to mechanical trades
  • Ensure all tagged items are positioned in accordance with client specifications/tolerances
  • Ensure QA documentation is signed off when equipment has been positioned in accordance with the above
  • Create dimensional survey reports as required
  • Attend Daily Coordination meetings and any other meetings as required
  • Use of surveying equipment and associated software
  • Establish/extend a 3D coordinate grid system based on existing reference points
  • Survey mechanical equipment and provide as-build reports detailing design/actual coordinates and deviations (typically this would be vessel centerlines, supports, and various nozzles)
  • Surveying of Civil plinths & fixings and provide reports
  • Aid construction by providing design gridlines & elevations throughout each structure as required
  • Aid construction during the alignment of equipment/pipework

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, or maintenance, with at least 2 years of setting out, surveying, and line and levelling

Qualifications

  • Relevant trade skills
  • Good communication skills required
  • Good interpersonal skills required as part of a large project team
  • Suitable IT skills – MS Office, Navis Works 2024
  • Self-motivated to achieve client deadlines
  • Competent in the use of Total Station and related software
