Growing Younger Children and Families Adviser

We are looking to appoint a Growing Younger Children and Families Adviser to join our Mission and Ministry Team. In this role, you will support parishes and new worshipping communities in the Church of England across Suffolk as they work with 0-11s and their families to grow new disciples.

What makes this role exciting is that you will be joining us at a time of significant investment in our work in this area and in a season in which we are seeing encouraging signs of growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about growing ministry with 0-11’s and their families to work with our Growing Younger Team Lead, clergy and local teams to enable and support parishes and new worshipping communities to engage with and grow their ministry with children and young people.

To do this effectively you’ll need to be a regular worshipper in church, be theologically literate, including familiarity with theories of faith development including baptism, intergenerational ministry and child advocacy, and have a broad understanding of the breadth of 0-11’s ministry across the traditions in the Church of England including Fresh Expressions of Church. Experience of engagement with schools, ideally both church and community, especially regarding growing spiritually and creating opportunities to develop discipleship pathways and some experience of delivering training and engagement events is also required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
