Direct Home Portfolio Underwriting Lead: We're looking for a Direct Home Portfolio Underwriting Lead to join our Home Underwriting team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong underwriting expertise with commercial thinking and a passion for delivering great customer outcomes.
In this role, you'll help steer the performance of our Direct Home portfolio across some of the UK's best-known insurance brands, including esure, Sheilas' Wheels, Saga, RIAS and Ageas. You'll work closely with teams across Pricing, Marketing, Distribution, Claims, Fraud and Product to make sure we continue to grow sustainably while offering competitive products that meet customers' needs.

Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities and risks.
- Help shape underwriting strategy, risk appetite and growth plans.
- Provide underwriting input into pricing, footprint and channel decisions.
- Partner with Pricing, Marketing, Distribution, Claims and Fraud teams.
- Keep track of market trends, competitor activity and customer behaviour.
- Drive data-led insights to support trading and portfolio performance.
- Present recommendations and performance insights to senior stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop a small underwriting team.

Skills and experience:
- Experience managing and analysing Home Insurance portfolios.
- Strong understanding of underwriting, pricing and portfolio performance.
- Commercial mindset with the confidence to influence decisions.
- Knowledge of direct, digital and price comparison website channels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of the UK Home Insurance market and regulatory environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous people leadership or team management experience.
