About M&G
M&G is a long-established player in Private & Structured Credit (‘P&SC’), serving a global client-base and with three decades of experience. The Private Corporate Credit team, sitting within the P&SC division, manages €10 billion across liquid and illiquid strategies, including Broadly-Syndicated Loans and Direct Lending, with sustainability fully embedded into the investment process.
We are seeking a direct lending professional or experienced leveraged financier to join our Direct Lending Origination team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. The role is well suited to an individual with an established network and strong transaction experience who enjoys working in a collaborative team and contributing throughout to the origination and execution process. Offers broad exposure to deal origination, largely in the European lower to mid-cap space. You will work in a high-conviction, analytical environment that values sound judgement, intellectual curiosity and collaboration.

The role sits within the Private Corporate Credit Origination team, combining market engagement with rigorous credit analysis and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to transaction structuring and underwriting and due diligence workstreams. You will:

- Support senior members of the Origination team in the assessment, underwriting and execution of new investment opportunities;
- Lead the analytical workstream on prospective transactions, including financial analysis, business diligence and downside assessment;
- Conduct detailed credit analysis, assessing key risks, mitigants and transaction structures;
- Work alongside Senior Directors in sponsor coverage and relationship management, including management teams, advisers and other lenders throughout the due diligence and execution process;
- Prepare materials for presentation at internal credit and investment committees;
- Assist in negotiating financing structures, terms and documentation alongside senior team members;
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of M&G’s Private Corporate Credit platform.
About You
You will bring:
- Meaningful experience in direct lending, leveraged finance, private debt, credit investing or a related field;
- Strong credit underwriting and financial analysis skills;
- Experience in executing leveraged finance or direct lending transactions;
- Good understanding of debt structuring and transaction processes;
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver under tight transaction timelines;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Collaborative, commercial mindset and intellectual curiosity;
- CFA or equivalent professional qualification (preferred);
Working Environment
Private Corporate Credit sits within Private & Structured Credit, part of M&G’s €100bn Private Markets platform. The team has a long track record in European leveraged finance and Direct Lending and manages a range of co-mingled funds, SMAs and CLOs.
