Short Description
We are looking for an experienced Direct Pipe operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring the Direct Pipe system, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate installation of pipelines while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Function Description
- Operate and control the Direct Pipe system (add machine brand and size) during installation activities.
- Monitor machine performance, guidance systems, slurry/lubrication systems, pipe thrust forces, and excavation parameters.
- Maintain line and level accuracy throughout the installation process.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and daily equipment checks.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
- Monitor ground conditions and communicate any geotechnical or operational concerns to the site management team.
- Assist with machine launches, breakthroughs, maintenance interventions, and cutterhead inspections.
- Coordinate with the separation plant and support crews to ensure continuous production.
- Ensure all production reports and operational records are completed accurately.
- Work closely with the Superintendent, Foreman, Pipe Crew, and maintenance personnel.
- Follow all project HSE requirements, quality standards, and client procedures.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating Direct Pipe trenchless installation equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Direct Pipe methodology and trenchless pipeline installation techniques.
- Experience with guidance systems, slurry circuits, separation plants, and tunnel monitoring systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live production environments.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Relevant safety certifications (VCA, SCC, CSCS, or equivalent) are considered an advantage.
