Director – Planning
Location: South West
Salary: Competitive / Negotiable

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional to join a growing Planning team in the South West at Director level. The role will suit a commercially minded planning professional looking to take a leading position within the business, with responsibility for developing key client relationships, winning new work, supporting the growth of the regional team and delivering strategic planning advice across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the growth and development of the regional Planning business across the South West.
- Generate new business and develop long-term relationships with clients, landowners and key stakeholders.
- Lead high-profile and complex planning projects, providing strategic advice to clients.
- Develop and manage key client accounts and identify opportunities for further growth.
- Build, mentor and support the wider Planning team, helping to attract and retain high-calibre talent.
- Contribute to the wider business strategy and identify new market opportunities.
- Represent the business at industry events and build its profile across the South West.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across planning, design and related disciplines.

About You
- MRTPI qualified with significant experience within planning consultancy, development or local government.
- A strong understanding of the South West planning market with an established professional network.
- Proven track record of winning work and developing strong client relationships.
- Commercially driven with the ability to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience developing planning professionals.
- Technically strong and confident providing strategic planning advice to clients.
- Experience across a range of sectors; Urban Regeneration experience would be advantageous.
