Overview
Egality connects pharmaceutical companies with underserved communities to make clinical trials more inclusive and effective for all. We are specialists in health equity, community engagement, and clinical research.
It is an exciting time of growth for Egality, and we're looking for a Director to bolster our new business, client services, and community engagement. You'll lead our expansion in the pharmaceutical sector, oversee client delivery, and support and develop our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about health equity and driving equitable inclusion in health research. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience working with the pharmaceutical sector, in an agency or CRO, and a proven track record in securing new business.
This is an opportunity to have a significant impact in a small company delivering big social outcomes. You will join a hands-on team, with a strong focus on inclusion, teamwork, and social purpose.
The role
What you’ll do:
Growth, mission and new business
- Lead our growth strategy, with a focus on expansion in the pharmaceutical sector, while staying true to our principles, values and social impact metrics
- Ensure that under-represented communities remain at the heart of our work, and that our community organisation partners continue to shape our principles, mission, and services
- Build and deliver a pipeline of pharmaceutical companies and life science organisations across the UK, EU and US
- Lead proposals, pitches and new business briefs, and navigate procurement processes such as preferred supplier lists and RFPs
- Strengthen our company narrative, service positioning and profile, through conferences, awards, and thought leadership

Clients and team
- Bring in-depth senior expertise to our insights and outreach services, adding credibility and integrity to how we deliver value for clients
- Explore how to enhance our services, measure our impact, and continuously improve the quality of our delivery for clients and community organisation partners
- Provide senior oversight of client relationships and projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and growing existing accounts, act as a senior point of contact
- Line manage, support and develop the team, including upskilling in business development and client management
Who You Are
Principles
- You are aligned with our principles and values as an organisation, and driven to achieve our social impact and mission toward equitable health research
- You are committed to our work with under-represented communities, and respect the voices of people with lived experience
- You are excited to hear the opinions, perspectives and insights from community organisations and leaders, to inform and shape how we operate as an organisation
Professional
- You have 10+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, ideally in an agency or CRO role
- You have a proven track record in securing new business, leading growth, and contributing to the expansion of a company
- You have demonstrable experience in one or both of our services – insights gathering to design accessible trials, and/or communications and recruitment for clinical trials
- You have senior client management experience, and are confident leading multiple projects and delivering high-quality work
Personal
- You have experience managing and developing teams, and enjoy bringing out the best in people
- You’re comfortable getting stuck in and working collaboratively with the team, in an environment with low hierarchy and high autonomy
- You’re excited to join a small team delivering big social outcomes, in a senior role where you can help shape the future of the company

Egality connects underserved communities with the pharmaceutical sector to make clinical trials more inclusive and effective for all. We do this by gathering unheard insights to shape trial design, and delivering creative, community-led outreach to increase fair representation in trials. We deliver award-winning projects with pharmaceutical and life science organisations.
