JOB PURPOSE
CIBC Capital Markets Technology develops a diverse range of software and platforms to support CIBC’s trading activities, including systems for managing derivatives risk, data science and machine learning, and front-end systems used by the business.

In this role, you will work closely with users to identify opportunities to automate processes, improve productivity, and embed AI effectively into day-to-day workflows. You will act as a trusted partner to business teams, helping them translate real operational needs into practical AI-enabled solutions while promoting responsible, effective, and scalable use of AI across the organization.

You will play a central role in evangelizing best practices, mentoring colleagues, and helping build a culture of confident and effective AI usage across Capital Markets.

- Develop playbooks, guidance materials, training content, examples, and enablement resources to support adoption at scale.
- Facilitate workshops, office hours, and working sessions to help teams discover and implement practical AI use cases.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
