About the Role
Take ownership of an established accountancy practice office and lead it through an ambitious period of growth.
A well-established and growing accountancy firm is looking for a commercially minded Director to lead its Bournemouth office, develop the existing team and deliver a plan to double revenues over the next four years.
The office has a strong accounts-led client portfolio, supported by Personal Tax and Owner-Managed Business Tax services. It also has an established presence within the theatre, dance and creative sectors, with significant opportunity to diversify the client base and expand its reach across Bournemouth and the wider Dorset market.
You will inherit a technically strong team and receive substantial support from the wider business, including investment in marketing, networking, business development and additional headcount as revenues increase.

- Review and sign off client work while maintaining high technical and service standards.
- Drive business development activity, broaden the office's client base and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
- Build relationships across Bournemouth and the wider Dorset business community.
- Recruit and develop additional team members as the office grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
