Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the company?

This is an established Building Services consultancy based in Manchester, with a team of around 30 people.

The business has experienced significant growth over the last five years, going from just 5 people to 30 and more than tripling its turnover during that time. They work across a broad range of sectors and have built their reputation around quality engineering, strong project delivery and long-term client relationships.

They’re now at an exciting stage of their growth and are looking to strengthen their Director-level team with someone who can help drive the next chapter of the business. The business already has two Directors who you could join. The intention is for the successful candidate to become part of this Director-level team, with the potential to work towards ownership themselves over time.

About the position

We’re ideally looking for someone from an Electrical Building Services background, although a Mechanical Engineer with the right leadership and project delivery experience would absolutely be considered.

You’ll need to be an excellent project leader and people manager, but this isn't purely a management position. They're looking for a team player who can contribute technically, commercially and, ideally, help bring new work into the business.

This could be a particularly strong opportunity for an Associate or Associate Director who is already doing much of this work but has reached the ceiling of what they can achieve in their current business.

If you're ambitious, commercially minded and looking for a genuine route towards something bigger than your current position, I'd be very interested in speaking with you.
