Director – Business Advisory Services
Location: UK-wide or Scottish Central Belt
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000
Level: Director
Qualification: CA / ACCA or equivalent
We are recruiting for an experienced and commercially minded accounting professional to join a growing Business Advisory practice at Director level.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial insight, client relationship management, and people leadership.
The role goes beyond traditional compliance. You will work closely with business owners and senior leaders, helping them understand their financial and operational performance, identify opportunities and risks, and make better-informed commercial decisions.
You will also play a key role in the continued development of the Business Advisory offering, helping to shape a more insight-led, technology and data-enabled service.
What will you be doing?
- Managing and developing a portfolio of business advisory and accounting clients
- Acting as a trusted advisor to business owners and senior leaders
- Providing proactive commercial and strategic advice around risks, opportunities, and emerging issues
- Translating financial and operational information into meaningful insight and practical actions
- Supporting commercial decision-making, scenario planning, growth, and investment decisions
- Taking ownership of the quality, efficiency, and profitability of client engagements
- Leading, coaching, and developing team members
- Driving operational performance and maintaining consistently high standards
- Working collaboratively with Tax, Corporate Finance, and other specialist teams
- Identifying opportunities to broaden and deepen client relationships
- Contributing to business development, networking, and new market opportunities
- Supporting the continued development of a technology and data-enabled advisory service

About you
We are particularly interested in speaking with established Directors or experienced Senior Managers from an accountancy practice or professional services background.
You will ideally have:
- Considerable experience managing a portfolio of business advisory or accounting clients
- Strong technical accounting and business advisory knowledge
- CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Strong commercial awareness and credibility with business owners
- Experience building trusted, long-term client relationships
- Leadership experience, including coaching and developing teams
- The ability to turn financial information into practical commercial advice
- An interest in how technology and data can improve client service
- A proactive approach to business development and practice growth
- Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management skills

The opportunity
This is an opportunity to take a significant leadership role within an ambitious and evolving Business Advisory practice.
You will have the scope to influence how the service develops, strengthen client relationships, develop people, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
The position can be based anywhere in the UK, with candidates across the Scottish Central Belt also particularly welcomed.
