Asia Pacific Business Development Director

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As the Senior Member of Top Aces’ International Business Development Team, you will lead marketing, government engagement, and business development across the Asia Pacific region. Your responsibility includes:
Strategic Planning
- Engage senior government, military, and industry officials to showcase Top Aces’ combat support and airborne training solutions.
- Collaborate with top executives to determine defense customer motivations, requirements, and procurement needs within the APAC region.
- Contribute to long-term strategic growth, partnerships, and capability development in the region.
Develop and execute the Asia-Pacific Business Development strategy to:

Expand Top Aces’ presence in fighter-aircraft and advanced airborne training missions.

shape future training programs, securing competitive advantage for APAC market leadership.

Introduce advanced adversary platforms in alignment with APAC air force requirements and corporate strategy.

Lead regional new business capture efforts:
- Opportunity identification, RFI/RFP assessment, bid strategy, and Bid Team management.

Create comprehensive capture plans based on deep knowledge of customer organizations, procurement processes, and operational needs.

Serve as the focal point for marketing opportunities and Top Aces’ positioning in APAC.

Conduct business intelligence and market analysis across the Indo-Pacific:
- Market conditions, trends, competitors, threats, opportunities, and barriers to entry.
- Market sizing (revenue and profit potential).
- Target market share and competitive positioning.

Present unsolicited proposals, capability briefings, and information sessions to potential customers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance, and maintenance) on new opportunities.

Represent and promote Top Aces at key Asia-Pacific and international defense industry events.
Government Relations

Lead Top Aces’ Government Relations strategy for APAC campaigns.

Increase government/public awareness through proactive government relations initiatives.

Work with internal teams to:
- Identify, analyze, and manage government issues, regulatory matters, and policy developments.
- Develop briefing notes, policy submissions, and presentations.

Participate in crisis management for government-related concerns.

Monitor police/procurement protocols, defense legislation, and geopolitical developments in the Indo-Pacific.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required; MBA or equivalent is an asset.
- Proven experience in business development or proposal capture leadership within aerospace, defense, or government sectors.

- ** minimum 5 years’ senior-level experience in government aerospace/defense proposals.**
- Familiarity with fighter aviation, regardless of the discipline.
- Experience with APAC government tenders and complex proposal development.
- Solid understanding of government decision-making processes and defense procurement cycles.
Qualities & Skills
- Customer focused, self-driven, and results-driven with exceptional follow-through.
- Excellent verbal/written communication in English – additional Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Hindi, or Bahasa skills strongly valued.
- Demonstrated strengths in relationship management with senior officials and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and CRM tools.

Security & Travel
- Travel required.
- Position requires Canadian Level II security clearance + access to Controlled Goods Program.
