Job Summary
The Director, Business Development will be based in Europe and will report to the Senior Director, Business Development. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and expanding customer relationships, and driving pipeline and bookings in line with individual and team objectives.
What a Typical Day Looks Like:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with targeted customers, including new logos and expansion within existing accounts.
- Develop, qualify, and manage leads to build a robust and sustainable sales pipeline.
- Create and execute account plans to understand customer needs, priorities, and growth potential.
- Engage with customers and prospective customers through virtual and in-person meetings to present capabilities and align solutions with their business goals.
- Prepare for and lead executive-level discussions, including C-suite meetings, to communicate value propositions and commercial strategies.
- Analyze customers’ business strategies, product roadmaps, and expansion plans to align internal resources for mutual success.
- Drive business growth by selling end-to-end solutions, including product design and development, vertically integrated manufacturing, supply chain and logistics, and related services within the medical devices and drug delivery space.
- Represent company values and ways of working in all internal and external interactions.
- Develop business cases and commercial proposals for internal approval and customer review in support of new opportunities.
- Strengthen and standardize processes and best practices related to business development activities.
- Negotiate commercial and contractual terms and successfully close complex business deals.

The Experience We’re Looking to Add to the Team:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated success in new business development, lead conversion, pipeline generation, and achievement of sales targets.
- Proven and robust experience selling into the Drug Delivery markets (focus on services), with an established and current industry network.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Strong financial understanding, including business case development and commercial decision-making.
- Experience with account planning methodologies and CRM tools (Salesforce)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 50% of the time.
- Strong Drug Delivery market knowledge and ability to provide insights to customers and internal stakeholders within the Drug Delivery Devices sector.
- Proven capability to access and engage key decision-makers within leading pharmaceutical companies to develop pipeline and close opportunities
- Educational background and professional experience in business or engineering.
- Experience within Business Development in Drug Delivery CDMO environment and/or a strong background in selling design, manufacturing, PCBA, EMS solutions.
- Fluent in English, any other European language is a plus.
