Director – Business Development (Funds)

Location: London or Channel Islands (Hybrid)
Salary: Highly Competitive + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a leading independent provider of fund, corporate and private wealth administration services, supporting investment managers and institutional clients across multiple international jurisdictions.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Director – Business Development to drive the acquisition of new fund administration mandates and expand relationships with fund managers, investment firms and professional intermediaries.

This is a senior commercial role suited to an established business development professional with an extensive network across the private capital industry and a proven track record of winning complex mandates.

The Role

Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing new client relationships, generating revenue opportunities and strengthening the firm's market presence across the private funds sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing business development strategies to win new fund administration mandates.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand relationships with existing clients through additional service offerings.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with fund managers, legal firms, investment consultants and other professional intermediaries.
  • Managing the full business development lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to proposal development, negotiation and successful onboarding.
  • Representing the business at industry conferences, networking events and client meetings.
  • Identifying new markets, sectors and client segments to support long-term growth.
  • Working collaboratively with client service, marketing and operational teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments to identify commercial opportunities.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to possess:

  • Significant experience within the funds industry, with a strong understanding of fund administration or related financial services.
  • A demonstrable track record of winning new business and delivering sustained revenue growth.
  • An established network of relationships across investment managers, institutional investors and professional intermediaries.
  • Experience managing complex sales processes involving senior decision-makers, including C-suite executives and boards.
  • Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • The ability to develop long-term partnerships built on credibility and trust.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
