On behalf of our client, an established, well reputed company in the water and wastewater treatment sector, we are currently seeking an experienced senior leader for the position of
Head of Business Development – Water Treatment United Kingdom | Water & Wastewater Treatment | Senior Leadership
About the Opportunity
The position complements an established technical and operational management team and combines market development, customer relationships, portfolio strategy and commercial growth. A particular focus will be on safeguarding and further developing key market relationships during a period of succession while leveraging the wider international organisation to create additional growth opportunities.
Your Responsibilities
- Represent the company within the UK water and wastewater market
- Drive strategic business development and identify new growth opportunities
- Maintain and further develop relationships with utilities, consultants, contractors and industrial customers
- Strengthen the company’s market position and commercial presence
- Contribute to the strategic development and positioning of the product and solution portfolio
- Support the continued development of project engineering and project delivery capabilities
- Drive the strategic development and competitiveness of selected water-treatment technologies and product platforms
- Improve portfolio focus, sourcing competitiveness and commercial positioning
- Work closely with international sales and business units to develop opportunities beyond the UK market
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding market development, investments, portfolio priorities and positioning
- Support the transfer of engineering and project-execution expertise across the wider international organisation
- Contribute to the development of future commercial and technical leaders

Your Profile
- Degree in Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
- Several years of professional experience in the water, wastewater, or process industries, or a closely related technical field.
- Strong understanding of water-treatment technologies and engineered solutions
- Proven experience in business development and technically complex B2B markets
- Experience in technical customer interaction and the development of long-term commercial relationships
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic mindset
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to engage effectively with utilities, consultants, contractors, technical specialists and senior decision-makers
- Proactive, customer-focused and solution-oriented approach
- Strong networking capabilities
- Fluent English
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally
