Director - Car Sales & Client Services

At SLSHOP, we are passionate about classic Mercedes-Benz and dedicated to delivering excellence. Founded by enthusiasts, we have built a world-class reputation as the go-to destination for classic Mercedes-Benz restoration, servicing, parts store, and vehicle sales. Our 50,000 sqft facility in Stratford-upon-Avon is home to an exceptional team who work in an exceptional culture and share a deep appreciation for these iconic cars.

Join us and work on the world’s most iconic classic Mercedes-Benz cars with a team that values precision, pride, and people.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded sales leader to take responsibility for two important areas of our business: the profitable development of our classic Mercedes-Benz car sales operation, the leadership of our client-facing service and restoration sales team, and wider client development strategy.

This is not a conventional high-volume motor trade position. We sell a carefully selected collection of blue-chip classic Mercedes-Benz cars. Our world-class workshops service and restore these cars to perfection and our Parts Store provides every available part for these incredible vehicles. Every car, client relationship, and transaction matters.

The successful candidate will combine the judgement and presence of a senior sales director with the practical, hands-on approach needed to lead a small specialist team.

Car Sales

You will take overall responsibility for the strategy, performance, and profitability of SLSHOP car sales. This will include:

  • Developing a sustainable and profitable car sales strategy.
  • Introduction of Porsche Classic Sales.
  • Ensuring that we acquire and hold the right quality, quantity, and variety of stock.
  • Curating an inventory that supports and elevates the SLSHOP brand.
  • Personally managing important collector, investor, and high-net-worth client relationships.
  • Leading negotiations and major vehicle transactions.
  • Setting appropriate pricing, margin, stock-turn, and revenue objectives.
  • Managing the sales pipeline, forecasting, and departmental performance.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and structure to the business.
  • Developing new opportunities to source, sell, and broker exceptional classic Mercedes-Benz cars.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership, direction, motivation, and commercial discipline to the Client Services team.
  • Ensuring enquiries are professionally qualified, followed up, and converted.
  • Developing a consistent methodology for presenting our products and services.
  • Working with operational and technical leaders to ensure that client proposals are commercially sound and deliverable.
  • Establishing clear quarterly and annual revenue, margin, and conversion objectives.
  • Improving pipeline visibility, forecasting, and follow-up.

Working with our marketing and divisional teams, you will help us understand the changing needs of existing and prospective customers and identify relevant opportunities across car sales, parts, servicing, restoration, Reborn, and technical services.

This must be thoughtful and relationship-led. The objective is not simply to sell more, but to ensure that our clients properly understand and benefit from the full range of expertise available through SLSHOP.

The Person

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Senior-level experience in high-value, relationship-led sales.
  • The confidence and credibility to work with collectors, investors, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong commercial judgement, including pricing, margin, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • The ability to lead a small team while remaining personally involved in important opportunities.
  • An understanding of premium, specialist, or classic motor cars.
  • A genuine appreciation of the importance of stock selection, presentation, and brand positioning.
  • The ability to bring structure, accountability, and consistency without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • A commitment to exceptional customer service and long-term client relationships.

This is an opportunity to shape the commercial future of an established and highly regarded classic Mercedes-Benz specialist. Success will be measured through profitable and sustainable car sales, stronger conversion of client enquiries, increased engagement across our existing customer base, and a consistently outstanding client experience.
