The Recipe For Success

Since 1925, product has been the life blood of Le Creuset and as the Director of Category Merchandising you are responsible for leading the product merchandising strategies and commercialization process that will enable us to achieve our growth objectives, further our leadership position in the marketplace and excite our passionate consumers. You wield tremendous influence through extensive collaboration with internal partners, external customers, manufacturing, senior management and global counterparts. Your strategic goals and tactics are underpinned by rigorous analytical capability and applied understanding of commercial KPI management fuels our multi-channel business throughout Europe and the UK.

Ingredients: Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of the Le Creuset product portfolio for Europe & UK.
  • Capitalize on the innovation opportunities that will enable market share increase.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and technologies being deployed to ensure our continued leadership position in the marketplace.
  • Define and execute portfolio management strategies and tactics that will meet tiered distribution needs, achieve meaningful channel differentiation, and customer segmentation opportunities.
  • Establish the practices that will lead to the efficient and effective management of the portfolio.
  • Implement, maintain and drive a rigorous category performance management discipline in coordination with internal functions/channels to achieve fiscal efficiencies.
  • Drive the promotional planning discipline that protects core equities while responding to commercial realities; including but not limited to color exclusives, promotional items and pricing programs.
  • Champion the price management discipline within the region.
  • Shape the critical feature benefits of our products that can be activated in the marketplace.
  • Ensure a well-documented work flow, critical record retention and institutional knowledge archive.
  • Be the face and voice of the Category Merchandise team.
  • Function as the marketplace face of our product development organization, partnering with customer and industry business owners, and other external opinion leaders where necessary to further our agenda.
  • Provide leadership, direction, management and personal development of the category marketing team.
  • Actively participate in the broader marketing leadership team and executive team forums to deliver a collaborative efficiency to our overall business process and general knowledge of our category development strategies.
  • Actively collaborate with global counterparts to achieve scalable ideas and best practice sharing.
  • Champion and operationalize all activities for continuous improvement in our Global Line Planning process and practice.

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, business administration or related field
  • 7+ years of proven experience in an omni-channel consumer goods business
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a brand centric multi-channel environment
  • Extensive cross-functional and collaborative expertise with a focus on influencing and alignment
  • Extensive knowledge of product portfolio management best practices and the demonstrated application to achieve business growth
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to travel ~20% of the time
