Director, Commercial Strategy and Planning
We are seeking a Director, Commercial Strategy and Planning, based in our corporate office in Hong Kong. This role plays a critical role in advancing the commercial agenda, translating strategic priorities into well-structured programmes that enable disciplined execution, informed decision-making, and the successful delivery of major initiatives and commercial outcomes. Positioned at the intersection of strategy and delivery, the role brings together market insight, analytical rigour, customer perspective, and strong programme governance, while partnering closely with senior leaders across Commercial, Brand, and Digital, and collaborating with key stakeholders in Operations and Technology.
Key Accountabilities
- Partner with Group and business leadership to frame complex commercial questions, develop strategic options, and support investment decision-making
- Lead advanced analysis and insight generation, synthesising data from multiple sources (commercial performance, customer behaviour, digital platforms and market intelligence) to diagnose issues, identify opportunities and inform strategic decision-making
- Translate complex data and consumer insight into clear, actionable recommendations, providing structured problem-solving and solutions to address key commercial challenges
- Develop robust business cases and multi-year scenarios to support new initiatives, partnerships and platform development
- Establish programme governance for priority commercial initiatives, including steering committee (steerco) oversight, ensuring clear scope, milestones, dependencies and accountabilities
- Coordinate many concurrent project workstreams, ensuring defined objectives, deliverables and alignment of interdependencies
- Analyse and embed customer insight into commercial agendas, shaping propositions, journey mapping and functional operating models to deliver industry leading, brand-led customer experiences and commercial performance
- Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, facilitating alignment between global and local operations based colleagues
- Prepare clear, structured materials for leadership and the Chief Commercial Officer
- Support change and operational adoption of key commercial initiatives and changes

General Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
- Experience in commercial or business strategy, programme leadership or transformation roles, gained within top-tier consulting, strategy or complex matrix organisations
- Demonstrated exposure to luxury, hospitality, consumer, retail or lifestyle businesses
- Strong financial modelling and commercial acumen, with experience building multi-year P&L forecasts and investment cases
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional programmes spanning business, digital and technology teams
- Comfortable operating at senior leadership level, including presenting recommendations and progress updates to executives
- Experience working across multiple geographies and regions
- Analytical, structured and calm under pressure
- Commercially minded, with a clear line of sight from strategy to execution
- Able to move between detail and altitude without losing clarity
- Confident influencing without authority in complex, matrixed environments
- Values rigour, simplicity and thoughtful progress over theatrics
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is strongly preferred
