Director – Cost Management, Leeds

I’m working with a well-established independent real estate and construction consultancy that is looking to appoint a Director – Cost Management to join its Leeds office.

The business has a strong reputation for providing technically excellent, commercially focused advice to property owners, investors and occupiers, supporting clients throughout the property lifecycle. It is a multidisciplinary consultancy, bringing together expertise across cost management, project and development management, building surveying, engineering, sustainability and technical consultancy.

With a UK-wide team of 200+ specialist advisors, the business combines the scale and capability to deliver complex projects with the independence and collaborative culture of an employee-focused consultancy.

The opportunity

This is a senior leadership position within the Cost Management team, with responsibility for:

  • Leading and developing the Leeds cost management offering
  • Managing and mentoring a team of cost managers / quantity surveyors
  • Building and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Winning and delivering new business across the Yorkshire and wider Northern market and UK.
  • Providing strategic cost and commercial advice across the full development lifecycle
  • Leading major projects from feasibility and cost planning through procurement and construction
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across project management, surveying, engineering and sustainability
  • Contributing to the wider strategic growth and development of the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
